SYNCING INDOOR LIGHTING WITH THE NATURAL OUTSIDE WORLD
We all have an internal daily clock that controls almost every biological system in our bodies, from our sleep-wake cycles and mood and performance patterns to our metabolic, immune and reproductive systems. This is called our Circadian Rhythms.
Naturally, our circadian rhythms are aligned with our day and night cycles.
Simply put, we are awake (or should be) when the sun is shining, and we have bright blue skies above. We get naturally tired when the sun goes down and its dark outside.
However, for many of us we have never been more exposed to so much disruption to our circadian rhythms. We fill our eyes after dark with blue-enriched light from our super bright and addictive screens, tricking our brains into thinking it’s still daytime. We stream and binge on entertainment and social media until we fall asleep.
There have been more than 650 studies connecting light to health. These studies have shown that disruptions to our circadian rhythms have significant health consequences, including a higher risk of obesity, diabetes, some cancers, heart disease, depression, gut disorders, allergies, infections, premature aging.

We incorporate this system by using bright, short wavelength, blue-light bulbs in the day and switching to dimmer, warmer, longer wavelength bulbs through temperature-controlled lighting.
